(*Zoom classes will start in June. If you’re interested, please click the link to the form, below, and I will be happy to keep you apprised of upcoming sessions.)
A professional visual artist and teaching artist for many years, I work with K-12 students, their teachers, and grade level teams in schools throughout the Hawaiian Islands. I have also facilitated professional development courses and workshops in the Visual Arts for teachers through the Maui Arts and Cultural Center (MACC), Honolulu Theatre for Youth (HTY), and Friends of Pōmaika’i. Arts integration (creating/teaching art lessons and units that meet Common Core, Next Generation Science, and Fine Arts Standards through the Visual Arts) is my specialty. I absolutely love my work and have many wonderful art projects to share.
And now, for the first time ever, I will be offering a series of reasonably priced, online art classes for kids! My first series will focus on POP-UPS. I am wildly passionate about making pop-ups and can’t wait to share my knowledge with your children and with you, if you’d like to join us.
Individual lessons will cover a variety of topics, including:
• basic and intermediate pop-up techniques
• creative drawing projects to add to your pop-ups
• simple bookmaking skills for making your very own pop-up storybook or pop-up sampler.
In case you were wondering…
I promise not to inundate you with emails, nor will I share your contact info with anyone else.
*NOTE: For children under the age of 9, it’s best to have an accompanying adult on hand to help with cutting, folding, and gluing.
