Whispered Wisdom: a Handcrafted Nest for Things that Matter (Session 1)

Session 1: Participants will craft tiny treasure boxes, painting, folding, embellishing, and assembling them to create a sturdy, beautifully designed foundation. They’ll add journal covers and interior pages and personalize their creations. A PDF of copyright-free, perfectly sized images will be provided for optional decoration. Participants will also paint and embellish 1″ round watercolor paper “pearls,” preparing them for reflective writing activities focused on their “Word of the Year,” guiding wisdom from SoulCollage® neters for 2025, or any other chosen topic.

Whispered Wisdom: a Handcrafted Nest for Things that Matter (Session 2)

Session 2: Participants will harvest “wisdom pearls” for their treasure box, gather words and phrases from their journaling, and create a “found word poem” of whispered wisdom to inscribe in their tiny journal sanctuary. Time will also be set aside for sharing and connection.

About this event

Using simple watercolor techniques and a spirit of sacred play, workshop participants will paint, fold, and assemble a tiny matchbox-sized sanctuary and journal to house pearls of wisdom and found poetry harvested from journaling activities (*See note below.)

The delicacy of these miniature treasures engages our curiosity, inviting intimacy and attentiveness that has long been associated with the sacred. Miniatures ask us to slow down and to be fully present in much the same way that a whisper causes a listener to lean in toward a speaker. Upon completing these small treasure box journals, and with the guidance of select writing prompts, we will become both whisperer and listener, leaning in to hear and record our own divine whisperings.

(*Note: This workshop stands beautifully on its own but also complements SoulCollage® and “Word of the Year” journaling practices (Kimberly Lee workshop link). Clear, simple instructions will ensure all participants feel supported, regardless of prior experience.)

HOW LONG IS THE WORKSHOP?

Two Live Sessions: 7 total hours of creative community and guidance over two consecutive days (3.5 hours per session).
