I was asked to illustrate a playing card, the Queen of Hearts, to represent Hawaii for a deck called the U.S.A. Project. The company, Art in Hand Cards, chose a varied group of artists to represent the entire nation in a single deck of playing cards. I just received the printed deck, and it’s fabulous! I had fun going through the deck, trying to guess the state based on the artwork. There’s a wide range of mediums and styles, so the overall deck is visually exciting, a mini art gallery that fits into the palm of my hand. I love it!
