Description
Join Maui artist, Beth Marcil, for 4 fun-filled pop-up classes where we’ll:
• create 3 wacky creatures and monsters adding new, more advanced techniques each week
• learn how to draw a variety of cartoon facial expressions on your monster
• introduce movement to figures by learning how to draw appendages that bend at the joints
• make a concertina fold book to house your creatures and tell their stories
SESSION 1: Wacky Creature/Monster 1
Double Triangle Pop-Up Technique, Drawing Basics & Cartoon Facial Expressions, Details & Embellishments
SESSION 2: Wacky Creature/Monster 2
Double Triangle Variation (Zigzag cut), Pop-Up Eyes, create body movement (appendages that bend at joints)
SESSION 3: Wacky Creature/Monster 3
Double Triangle Variation 2 (Curved cut), Inverted Triangle beak or nose
SESSION 4: Make a Book for your Wacky Creatures/Monsters
Construct concertina fold book, insert monsters and pages. Use your imagination to make up stories about your monsters. Writing prompts included on downloadable pdf.
SUPPLY LIST: construction paper (9×12), scissors, white glue or glue stick, pencil, Sharpie (Optional: colored pencils or markers)
